– An Adenta Circuit Court has remanded Evans Eshun, also known as Ebo Noah, for allegedly publishing false news intended to cause fear and panic.

The court, presided over by Madam Angela Attachie, ordered that Eshun, 33, undergo a psychiatric examination at a government psychiatric facility before the next adjourned date.

Eshun, a private security guard, is being held on a charge of publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic, with his plea reserved.

The case has been adjourned to January 15, 2026.

The prosecution said Eshun published and reproduced statements on his TikTok, YouTube and Facebook accounts, known as Ebonoah, claiming that the world would be destroyed by floods on December 25, 2025, following heavy rainfall.

He is said to have also indicated in the videos that he was building an ark to save people, an assertion that reportedly compelled some individuals to travel to Ghana.

The prosecution said the complainant in the case was the Ghana Police Service and that between August and December 2025, Eshun published several videos on Facebook, TikTok and YouTube under the name @Ebonoah.

In the videos, Eshun allegedly claimed that the world would be destroyed by floods in December 2025 and that he was constructing an ark to accommodate persons who wished to be saved.

On December 31, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation, Eshun was arrested at his hideout at Weija-Gbawe in the Greater Accra Region.

In his investigation caution statement, Eshun admitted making and circulating the videos on social media.

He, however, stated that the boat he referred to as an “ark” in the videos did not belong to him but was owned by a fisherman at a boat yard in Edina in the Central Region.

Eshun admitted that his claims were false and acknowledged that there was no impending flood intended to destroy the world, saying the content shared on social media was fabricated.

The prosecution said investigations were ongoing.
