Aduana FC are eyeing a big win over holders Asante Kotoko in the Round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup set for Sunday, Febuary 8, 2026. at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The tie, widely viewed by supporters as a potential “final before the final”, pits two clubs against each other considering their form in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko, the defending champions, face a stern test from an Aduana side that have been impressive in the league as they currently lie third.
Mr Collins Attah Poku, Aduana FC Chief Executive, said they welcome the matchup and believe Sunday’s encounter would be a fascinating one.
He said the FA Cup demanded courage and ambition and described the fixture as an opportunity for Aduana FC to demonstrate their readiness to challenge for the trophy.
Mr Attah Poku added that the club’s fans were expected to travel in strong numbers to support the team.
The fixture forms a crucial part of Kotoko’s title defence, with the winner set to meet RTU or Techiman Liberty Youth in the quarter-finals.
In another key Round of 16 pairing, FC Samartex 1996 would face Medeama SC. Samartex, one of the league’s emerging sides, are expected to view the tie as a chance to measure themselves against Medeama, who bring continental experience and tactical discipline.
