Torgbui Satsi III, the Chief of Adzonkor, has announced plans by the community to construct four single-room self-contained units to accommodate health personnel working at the Adzonkor Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound.
He said an amount of GH¢21,223.00 realised from the recent Adzonkor Gborvafe Festival celebration would be committed as seed money for the project to kick-start construction.
Torgbui Satsi disclosed this at a community meeting held at Agbedor Kofe in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region at the weekend.

The meeting aimed to review the successes achieved and challenges encountered after the celebration of the Adzonkor Gborvafe Festival.
He explained that the absence of residential accommodation for nurses and other health workers had affected effective service delivery at the CHPS compound, and that the initiative was aimed at improving healthcare access, attracting as well as retaining health professionals in the area.
“The construction of the nurses’ quarters is a shared responsibility. With our collective effort, we can provide a decent place for our health workers and improve healthcare delivery for our people,” he said.
The Chief appealed to residents and natives living outside the community, as well as benevolent organisations to support the project with funds, materials, and labour to ensure its timely completion.
He expressed optimism that the project, when completed, would reduce response time to emergencies and enhance staff morale at the facility.
Residents present at the meeting commended the initiative and pledged their support towards its implementation through financial contributions, communal labour, and mobilisation of additional resources to ensure the success of the project.
