Akatsi North: 18-member Assembly to confirm DCE nominee

An eighteen-member Assembly of the Akatsi North District in the Volta Region will convene on Wednesday, April 2, at Ave-Dakpa to confirm Mr. Bless Kodjo Katamani, the President’s nominee for District Chief Executive (DCE).

The members comprise 12 elected and six government appointees.

Mr. Patrick Ahiabu, the Presiding Member, who summoned the special meeting, confirmed this when reached by the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution  states that “there shall be a District Chief Executive for every district who shall be appointed by the President with the prior approval of not less than two-thirds  majority of members of the Assembly present and voting at the meeting”.

Mr. Katamani, is a Teacher by profession and the current vice-Chairman for Akatsi North National Democratic Congress (NDC).
