Dr Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency in the Ahafo Region has inaugurated 10 mechanised boreholes to provide potable drinking water in the beneficiary communities in the constituency.

Additionally, the MP who said he was set to exit parliament in 2025 handed over three toilet facilities to some deprived communities in the area.

“I am always happy whenever I am able to address the needs of my constituents,” she told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the side-lines of a symbolic ceremony held at Apataasu, a farming community for the inauguration of the facilities.

So far, the Dr Prempeh said she had constructed more than 150 mechanised boreholes and promised to complete and hand-over several boreholes and other development projects she was putting up to the people before she exited parliament.

She mentioned durbar grounds, extension of electricity, Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compounds, toilets, and classroom blocks as some of the on-going development projects.

“In fact, I have served my constituents, and I will continue to serve them until I officially leave office as an MP,” she reaffirmed.

With the level of development during her 16 year-term in parliament, Dr Prempeh said she was optimistic that the electorate would not let her down by voting for Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to retain the New Patriotic Party in political power, when they go to polls on December 7.

On their part, opinion leaders and some women farmers in the beneficiary communities took turns to commend the MP for her passion for development and providing them with the water facilities.
