Mr Kwame Baffoe, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has implored supporters and members of the Party to bury all differences and forgive each other’s offences to achieve the goal of “breaking the eight” in Election 2024.

He said the party could not compromise on internal peace and unity and asked the executives to reflect, identify and resolve all emerging challenges that could disintegrate the party and affect its chances of winning the next elections.
Interacting with a section of the media in Sunyani on the aftermath of the NPP parliamentary primaries, Mr Baffoe, popularly known as “Chairman Abronye” said it was imperative that the newly elected candidates and their followers teamed up with the other aspirants to build a formidable front for the electioneering.

“Until the aggrieved, hurt and disgruntled party people reconciled with each other, our vision for breaking the eight would remain a mirage,” he said.

“We can’t win the 2024 parliamentary and presidential elections with a divided front”.

“In fact, absolute unity and harmony remain crucial for the Party’s success in the upcoming general election and we can’t compromise our stand on that.”

While commending the losing aspirants for accepting defeat, the Regional Chairman reminded the parliamentary candidates and their followers on the need to see their victories as achievements for the entire NPP.

“We must also redirect our energies and resources towards the Election 2024 and avoid tendencies that could sow seeds of discord within our rank and file,” he added.

“This is not the time we have to celebrate our primary victories, instead we must strategise and position ourselves well to propagate the achievements of our government and maintain the confidence of the voting population.”
