Chief of Esiama urges Ghanaians to be patient with new government

The Chief of Esiama, Nana Ainoo-Kwagyan III, has appealed to Ghanaians to  be focused and patient  with the incoming government, led by Mr John Dramani Mahama, who takes over the presidency  in January 07, to further  develop the nation.

According to him, despite the current challenges facing the country, the President-elect needed ample  time to settle down and outline a strategic development plan with the Economic Management Team to reset the  nation.

Nana Ainoo-Kwagyan III was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at his palace in Esiama in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.

He was sharing his New Year message with Ghanaians.

The President-elect, Mr  Mahama is expected to be sworn-in as a comeback President following a landslide victory in the December 07 Presidential election.

He asked Ghanaians to lower their expectations of the President-elect so that disappointments do not  begin to set in.

Nana Ainoo-Kwagyan said  there were thousands of applicants in high expectations for jobs and other political appointments but cautioned them to be patient and wait for their turn as the government put in measures to reset the country.

The Chief noted that the President-elect, Mr Mahama have a rich experience in the governance of the country and would not disappoint the people.

Nana Ainoo-Kwagyan appealed to the President-elect to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) from the Nzema area just as  ex-President John Evans Atta Mills did in 2009, a procedure he also followed between 2013 and 2016 in his first tenure.

That the traditional ruler noted, would lend much credence to the local content policy by employing more people in the oil and gas enclave to work with the Company.

Nana Ainoo-Kwagyan III also reminded President -Elect Mr  Mahama to honour his promise by appointing the Member of Parliament MP for Ellembelle, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah into a good Ministerial position and make him a member of his cabinet in honour of Nzemaland.

He asked the President-elect to continue with all projects initiated and started by the previous administration before embarking upon new ones to save the national purse.

The Chief mentioned the Esiama Anglican Junior High School and Methodist Primary school which were at various stages of completion.

Nana Ainoo-Kwagyan III also asked the new government to continue works on  the Agona-Nkwanta to Takoradi dual carriage road.
