Mr. Okwei said that as a result of the progressive accomplishment of the TDC, the University of Professional Studies Accra (Faculty of Accounting and Finance) has decorated the company with the UPSA/CEOs Business Leaders Award, best in the housing and provision category.

He said TDC, which is a state institution in charge of the planning, layout, and development of the Tema Acquisition Area, has been at the forefront of development in the Tema enclave.

He stated that as a company, they have been able to deliver their directive on providing affordable housing for the general public at moderate and competitive prices as compared to higher prices in the commercial market.

Among the affordable housing projects are the National Housing Ownership Estate and the Kpone affordable housing project, which he said the phase 1 of the National Housing Ownership Estate, which consists of 204 units, has been completed.

He further stated that phase 2 will soon be completed and phase 3 will commence soon at Tema Community 22 near Michel Camp.

He mentioned that the National Housing Ownership Estate project is a joint venture between the National Housing Ownership Fund and TDC.

Mr. Okwei said the Kpone affordable housing project is on the verge of completion. The project will comprise 150 blocks with better facilities as well as a demarcated and gated environment, which will be given at a very affordable price.

“We are currently meeting most targets set for us”, he added.

As part of new developmental projects, he stated that the company will be starting a new project named “Ocean Park Affordable Housing Project,” which will be located at Tema Community 5, and many others that will soon be worked on.

He stated that for customers’ satisfaction and convenience, TDC has now digitalized payment methods, which include mobile money, transactions through some partnered banks, and short codes where customers can make payments without having to come to the office.

Mr. Okwei says TDC will always deliver based on their mandate and target as a leading real estate company in the country.

He stated that TDC is the industry leader in Ghana for delivering and offering cheap housing at a very competitive price.

Mr. Okwei stated that TDC will do all possible to maintain its status and honours in the next few years.
