Togbi Sri III, the ‘Awoamefia’ of the Anlo State has called on all Ghanaians to embrace cultural diversity as a way of promoting peace and development.

He said one of the best ways to achieve the targeted development in the country is that all ethnic groups accepted each other’s uniqueness and specialties for accelerated growth.

Togbi Sri III made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at the Manhyia Palace on Sunday during the Silver Jubilee celebration of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the ‘Asantehene’

“Ghana can only develop the way we all want it if we only come together as one people irrespective of the ethnic groups we belong to or what we believe in, when we do this, we accept each other’s beliefs, specialties, and uniqueness, where we can discover new ideas, resources and find new ways of improving the livelihood of our people.”

He referred to how the Asantehene worked to bring everyone on board including politicians, international dignitaries, and people from across Ghana to showcase the Ashanti culture and heritage to promote the area.

“What we are witnessing today is clear evidence of what I meant, this is not just a festival, but an occasion where cultures from across Ghana, politicians from all parties, and even international diplomats are exposed to the possibilities and potentials of the Ashanti Land,”

Togbi Sri III, who was among the special guests of honour at the Durbar, led an entourage of Anlo Chiefs, Queens, Asafo Groups, and traditional dancers that showcased the Anlo-Ewe culture with full pomp and pageantry to the audience.

In the company of the Awoamefia was Togbi Agbeshie Awusu II, the Warlord of Anlo, Zikpitor Dan Abodakpi, Togbi Mawufeame Fuga I, Chief of Anlo-Ewe community in Kumasi, Togbi Adogo Agbalekpor IV, Paramount Chief of Ave-Xevi, Togbi Joachim Acolatse IV of Kedzi, Togbi Adzenu II of Dzodze,  Togbi Kadzahlo VI and Togbi Akamu III all from Anlo-Afiadenyigba.

The rest include Togbi Agbeve II, Togbi Bedi Ahadzi, Togbi Zewu IV, Mama Dutsi I, and Mama Deawofe II, among others.
