Tema West registered 141 males and 134 females.

Out of the total number, 125 applicants supported their registration with Ghana Card, 4 applicants supported their registration with their passport and 208 applicants registered through guarantors.

Still in Tema West, two hundred and seventy-five (275) applicants were from ages 18–20, forty-six (46) were 21–35-year-olds, three (3) applicants from ages 36-45, five (5) from 46-55 years, and 1 applicant from 56-65- and 66–75-years respectively.

The Tema Metro Office of the EC registered one hundred and twenty (120) males and one hundred and four (104) female applicants, with thirty-five (35) applicants forming ages 21–35, eight (8) applicants were from ages 36-45.

Three (3) were 46-55 years old, and one (1) applicant from 56-65 and three (3) 66–75-year-olds, two (2) applicants above 76 years and six (6) persons with disability within the 3-day period.

Tema West received one challenge case with no challenge case at the Tema Metro office of the EC.

The Electoral Officer for the Tema West District Office told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that the Office had sworn-in the District Registration Review Committee to adjudicate all challenged cases.

“If an applicant is challenged, then notice needs to be served to both the applicant and the person challenging the applicant to appear before the committee to adduce evidence of the allegation that is being made…”

He said the composition of the committee are, “The District Electoral Officer, representative from the Ghana Police Service, the Traditional Council, the Ghana Education Service and a member from all active Political Parties within the constituency.”

“As the days go by, if the Office receives more complaints, the secretary of the committee will convene a meeting for us to sit on the cases.” He added.

At the Tema Metro, a District Registration Review Committee had been sworn in, according to the Metro Electoral Officer Manasseh Ofosuhene Asante.

After a three-day monitoring, the GNA gathered that, the Tema offices of the EC continued to experience unstable internet connectivity and dysfunctional machines which according to the Electoral Officers have slowed the registration processes.

The officials say the situation has prevented the EC from registering its daily average of 300 applicants.
