Tema-Ghana, Nov. 13, MNN – Unscrupulous individuals and gangs operating within the Krobo District have vandalized the Electricity of Ghana (ECG) High-Tension pole at Adelakope near Akuse Junction.
The illegal act, the second in two months calls for extra vigilance by residents as its impact will affect both domestic and commercial clients as well as the impact on finances of the ECG, Ms. Sakyiwaa Mensah, ECG Tema Regional Public Relations Officer has stated.
She explained that the criminals cut the pole down, stressing that the pole was located close to a previous one which was also cut down by unknown persons about a month ago.
Ms. Mensah said the attention of the ECG was drawn to the damaged pole on Friday and cautioned residents and perpetrators to desist from such acts as they negatively affect the power supply to some customers.
The PRO also noted that the act could lead to accidents and even death, therefore, the need for them to stay away from all ECG installations.
Meanwhile, Engineers from the Somanya District office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have replaced the high-tension electric pole.
