Three were recorded at the Ga East Municipality and two from the Adentan Municipality.
The three comprised one male adult and two male children, whereas the Adentan deaths comprised a male adult and a female child.
Madam Kate Opoku, the Director of Communications, NADMO, who disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said, so far, all 28 people trapped in their homes after the rains had been rescued.
The rescue efforts were a collaboration between the Ghana National Fire Service and the 48 Engineers Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces.
She said the water levels had receded, and all displaced persons had returned home.
Madam Opoku noted that the affected areas were Ga East, Adentan, La Nkwantanang Madina, and Ga West municipalities.
She advised the public against building on waterways and along riverbanks to avert flooding when it rained.
The four-hour May 18 downpour affected areas including Adabraka, Kaneshie, Weija, Dome, Adentan, Agbogba and Oyarifa.
