The Kade District Court has remanded five persons for assaulting a teacher of Kade Senior High Technical School, following their guilty pleas.
A statement issued and signed by Mr Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations of the Ghana Education Service, said the accused were charged with planning to assault a teacher and assault.
According to the statement, four of the accused persons, all above 18 years, were remanded into prison custody, while a 17-year-old juvenile was also remanded.
The statement said all five were expected to reappear before the court on January 20, 2026, noting that the juvenile’s case would be handled by a Juvenile Court.
It said family members and some of the accused persons broke down in tears as they were placed in a police vehicle and driven away.
“This demonstrates the level at which the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service can go to safeguard and protect the welfare of teachers and uphold the integrity of the WASSCE,” the statement said.
