Madam Judith Adjoba Blay, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Gas Company Limited (GNGCL), has feted about 100 widows from Ellembelle, Jomoro and Nzema East constituencies at a get-together as part of the Christmas festivities.
She also presented hampers and some unspecified amounts of money to each of them.
Speaking during the ceremony at the AYA Community Center at Ampain in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region, Madam Blay said the gesture was to put smiles on the faces of the widows.
She said it was a sacred duty to cater for the welfare and well-being of the less privileged in society, such as widows.

She said some widows were shrouded in misery; however, she was happy to see the beneficiaries in the Nzema area filled with happiness and joy.
The Ghana Gas CEO said as a daughter of Nzema land, she owed it a duty to commit to the empowerment of widows to contribute meaningfully to society.
Madam Blay used the occasion to inaugurate the Nzema Widows Association and pledged her unwavering support to strengthen the Association.
“The idea is to bring all the widows in the three Nzema Constituencies, under one umbrella,” she said.
Madam Nzenaibu Angama, from Sanzule, thanked the CEO of Ghana Gas for the benevolent gesture of putting the plight of widows on her agenda.
She said it was the first of its kind and appealed to Madam Blay to continue to seek the interest of widows and cater for their needs as a divine cause.
