The government is prepared to send Ms. Sandra Baafi Boateng, a victim of the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise stampede, abroad for specialised treatment if recommended by medical professionals.

Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister for Health, made this known on Monday when he updated Parliament on Ms. Baafi Boateng’s condition.

He said, “Mr. Speaker, I wish to assure this honourable house that the Ministry of Health has remained actively engaged with Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to ensure that Ms. Sandra Baafi Boateng receives the requisite specialist care and that every necessary step is being taken to expedite her treatment and recovery.”

“The government is exploring all appropriate medical options, both locally and internationally, to ensure that she receives the best possible care,” he said.

Ms. Baafi Boateng sustained serious injuries during the Wednesday, November 12, 2025, recruitment exercise at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

She has, however, been receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital since February 26, 2026.

The government is covering all her medical expenses.
