His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, acting on the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on Monday received members of Morocco’s National Football Team, runners-up of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco‑2025, at the Royal Guests Palace in Rabat.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was welcomed by the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, the National Team coach, Mr. Walid Regragui, and members of the technical and playing body. The reception was followed by a commemorative photograph with the team.
The ceremony underscored the continued High Benevolence of His Majesty the King towards Moroccan youth and His commitment to promoting their development through sports. It also reflected the particular importance the Sovereign attaches to the advancement of the sports sector, especially football.
Shortly after the final match between Morocco and Senegal, His Majesty King Mohammed VI conveyed a message of congratulations to the National Team. The King commended the team for demonstrating, through their AFCON campaign, that perseverance, dedication and team spirit remain essential to achieving excellence.
His Majesty noted that the team had shown the world what Moroccan and African youth can accomplish when they believe in their potential and abilities. He further highlighted that their performance reaffirmed the relevance of His strategic vision to invest in human capital and modernize the Kingdom’s sports infrastructure, which continues to prove its resilience and world‑class standards ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
