Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has emerged winner of the 2026 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primary in Hohoe.
He polled 245 votes ahead of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia with 196 votes, Mr Bryan Acheampong garnered167 votes, Dr Osei Yaw Adutwum three votes and Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, one vote.
Mr Wahab Issaka Alhassan, the Hohoe Constituency Coordinator for Mr Agyapong, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that it was not an easy task.
He expressed gratitude to polling station executives and delegates who received the campaign promises of Mr Agyapong very well.
Mr Alhassan said Mr Agyapong’s promises hinged on supporting polling station executives due to the neglect in past years.
He said it was hoped that Mr Agyapong would be declared as the Presidential candidate-elect so he would win power in the 2028 general elections to implement his policies.
Mr Alhassan said he would mobilise supporters of the other presidential candidates in the Constituency to ensure unity in the Party after the presidential primary.
The exercise which began at 0700 hours and ended at 1400 hours without any incidents.
