The project showcased creativity and skills with her viral runway performance, featuring a stunning transformation of a simple dress into a glamorous ball gown with an innovative hoop design.
Madam Jennifer Elikem Dogbey, the Clothing and Textile Teacher at Ketasco, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), expressed excitement about the skills and knowledge exhibited by the students, which indicated how ready they were to learn new things.
“We have 49 students in the Clothing and Textile class under the Home Economics department, and I can tell you that all the students have done extremely well,” she said
Madam Dogbey said that all clothing and textile students had done a mandatory off-campus attachment with designated fashion designers, which sharpened their skills of what they had learnt.
She said Celina had produced a beautiful garment which was part of the final practical project work and had attracted many prominent people across the country for her extraordinary skills showcased.
“I handled these students from SHS one to three, and they are all very intelligent in their studies and designs, I hope and believe that they will continue after here to raise the flags of Ketasco higher,” she said.
The GNA also gathered that Ms Sefenya was a day student and a native of Keta, who had interest and exceptional knowledge and skills in fashion and design.
Ketasco has been noted for its strong emphasis on technical education which provided students with hands-on skills and knowledge in various fields, such as visual arts and fashion with a friendly environment for nurturing students’ talents.
The school also has over 2,800 students with a staff numbering about 209 and offer programmes such as General Science, General Arts, Agriculture, Visual Arts, Business, Home Economics, and Technical.
Ketasco has previously excelled in various competitions including the National Science and Maths Quiz Competitions, Independence Day Quiz, Debate competitions, Sharks Quiz Competition, and the Public Speaking Competition.
The school is also known for its strong performance in sports, music, and cultural festivals and has won several awards, including the Sprite Ball national secondary school basketball competition.
The young Celina’s fashion skills and achievement attracted many and highlighted the commitment of the school to fostering creativity and talent in its students, while others believed that technical and vocational training in the school had clearly paid off as evidenced by the student’s remarkable projects.
