The Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) has admitted 9,620 new students from 16,155 applications for the 2025/2026 academic year to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate programmes saying Infrastructural constraints prevented the admission of all applicants.
The new cohort comprises 6,199 males (64%) and 3,421 females (36%). Of these, 9,373 are undergraduates and 247 postgraduates, including a notable number of international students.
Professor Gabriel Dwomoh, Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, delivered a virtual address at the 34th Matriculation Ceremony, emphasizing academic honesty, respect for authority, responsible digital usage, and peaceful co-existence as core university values.
He urged students to utilize academic resources, digital libraries, mentorship programmes, and student support services, while actively engaging with lecturers and peers.
Prof. Dwomoh highlighted the importance of matriculation as a statutory rite of passage, granting students’ academic and social rights, privileges, and binding obligations. He cautioned against antisocial behaviours, including alcoholism, gambling, indecent dressing, fighting, and irresponsible sexual conduct, noting that breaches could affect academic progression and attract disciplinary measures.
