She was appointed to the role on March 19, 2025, by Inspector-General of Police Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, as part of a broader Police Administration reshuffle under the new government led by President John Dramani Mahama. The move aimed to enhance operational efficiency.
COP Donkor holds a BA in Law and Political Science and an LLB from the University of Ghana, and was called to the Bar in 2013. She later earned an LLM in International and Human Rights Law from the University of Leeds, UK.
Her legal career began at Acquah-Sampson & Associates, and she later joined the Ghana Police Service, rising through key leadership roles including Head of Legal and Prosecutions, Divisional Commander of Tesano, and District Commander of Tesano-Accra.
She has served with the United Nations Mission in Liberia and currently leads the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB). She is also CEO of Police Ladies FC in the Ghana Women’s Premier League.
COP Donkor is recognised for her advocacy in human rights and pro bono legal work with the Legal Aid Board in Takoradi, defending gender and children’s rights in deprived communities.
She is the most experienced lawyer in the Ghana Police Service, with 25 years at the Bar, and is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, Police Ladies’ Association, and the International Association of Women Police Officers.
Her expertise in sports security includes roles as Safety and Security Officer for the Ghana Football Association and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), where she oversees safety infrastructure at major tournaments.
She succeeds DCOP Faustina Agyeiwaa Kodua Andoh-Kwofie.
