The appeal was made during the school’s annual Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Week celebration, an event dedicated to student engagement and recreation, but this year also served as a platform to spotlight the institution’s pressing infrastructural needs.
Among the most significant concerns raised were the lack of dormitory facilities for both male and female students, which has resulted in overcrowding and restricted access for learners from remote communities.
Additionally, the absence of a proper dining hall and assembly hall was highlighted as a major impediment to creating a conducive teaching and learning environment.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Opoku Mensah, SRC Patron, stressed the severity of the challenges.
“Our students are striving to succeed under difficult conditions. The absence of dormitories is particularly limiting our capacity to admit more boarding students,” he pointed out.
He also lamented the poor road network leading to the school, which he said was compounding accessibility to the school.
Mr. Mensah disclosed that the school intends to pursue development projects following the SRC Week celebrations but emphasised that external support is vital to their success.
“We are appealing to the government, corporate bodies, philanthropists, and NGOs to come to our aid. We envision transforming Manso Adubia SHS into a model institution, but that dream cannot be realised without the necessary infrastructure,” he stated.
