As part of Civil Service Week celebrations that ends on July 25, the four-day event, which commenced on Monday, offers a platform for ministries to engage citizens and highlight interventions across critical sectors.
Participating institutions include the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ministry of Gender and Social Protection, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of the Interior—each displaying key outcomes and strategic initiatives.
From food security and agricultural innovations to social protection schemes, education reforms, and public safety measures, the exhibition aims to reflect government efforts to improve lives and foster inclusive development.
Ms Beatrice Boakye Boateng, Assistant Chief Information Officer at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to empowering disadvantaged communities.
“We train persons with disabilities in skills such as soap making, batik, and shoemaking to ensure they become self-reliant. Our message is clear: disability does not mean inability,” she said.
She added that the Ministry’s participation aimed to raise public awareness of social protection initiatives targeting marginalised populations.
Mr Obed Mensah, Right to Information Officer at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, promoted its “Feed Ghana” campaign, encouraging both urban and rural farming to reduce reliance on food imports.
“We are urging everyone to grow something, no matter how small. If we eat what we grow and grow what we eat, we can cut import costs and boost exports,” he said.
The Ministry of Interior displayed uniforms of all the country’s security services, while the Ministry of Education distributed pamphlets summarising its recent policy interventions.
Remaining Civil Service Week activities include a Public Lecture on Tuesday, July 22 from 1000 to 1200 hours and an Inter-Ministerial Policy Quiz from 1300 to 1500 hours, both at the CLOGSAG Auditorium.
On Wednesday, July 23, a Policy Dialogue will be held from 1000 to 1200 hours, followed by a Cooking Competition from 1200 to 1600 hours at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Thursday, July 24 will feature the Final Football Matches from 1300 to 1700 hours also at the Stadium.
The Civil Service Awards Ceremony would be held on Friday, July 25, from 1600 hours at the Alisa Hotel, Accra.
