Mr Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, the Member of Parliament (MP) of South Tongu, has inspected newly acquired surgical equipment valued at over GHS 500,000 at the South Tongu District Hospital in Sogakope.
The equipment, secured through the MP’s lobbying efforts, is expected to enhance healthcare delivery and strengthen surgical services at the facility.
The intervention forms part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare and reduce referrals to other hospitals.
Mr Lukutor expressed satisfaction with the installation of the equipment and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the health sector in the constituency.
“Equipping the district hospital with modern medical tools will help reduce referrals and ensure timely surgical interventions for our people,” he stated.
Mr Samuel Omega, Administrator of the Sogakope District Hospital, commended the MP for facilitating the procurement of the equipment, noting that it would significantly improve surgical procedures and overall service delivery at the hospital.
In a related development, Mr Lukutor has donated office chairs and a 3-in-1 printer to the Dabala District Court to enhance administrative efficiency.
The donation followed concerns about inadequate logistics affecting the smooth operation of the court.
The MP said the gesture formed part of his broader agenda to strengthen public institutions and improve essential services across the South Tongu Constituency.
