Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament of North Tongu, has welcomed the progress being made on key road infrastructure projects in the constituency, noting their importance to economic growth and improved social services.
He acknowledged the role of government institutions and sector agencies in facilitating the award of several road projects to contractors, describing the developments as positive steps toward addressing long-standing infrastructure needs in the area.
Mr Ablakwa, in a Facebook post, disclosed that he recently visited the Mepe–Sege Road Project site with engineers assigned to the project to review preparations ahead of the commencement of construction works.
The Mepe–Sege Road, a 31.20-kilometre stretch, was awarded to Messrs Shenashe Limited on November 11, 2025.
He indicated that the necessary design work and site preparations have been completed, clearing the way construction to begin.
The first-class road is expected to be completed within 24 months.
According to the MP, the project is expected to stimulate economic activity, improve access to healthcare services—particularly to the Battor Catholic Hospital and the Mepe Health Facility—and enhance the transportation of agricultural produce from surrounding farming communities.
He mentioned several other infrastructure projects at various stages of development in the constituency, including the Volivo–Dorfor Adidome Bridge, the Juapong–Podoe–Abutia Road, the Frankadua–Podoe–Adidome Road, the Aveyime–Asutsuare Road, and the completion works on the Juapong–Volo–Adidome Road.
Mr Ablakwa reaffirmed his commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to advance strategic infrastructure development in North Tongu, emphasizing the importance of sustained collaboration in improving livelihoods across the constituency.
