The offices were barricaded on Monday, September 15, by a group reportedly affiliated with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The group was led by Mr. Sampson Quarshiga Akan, the Akan NDC Youth Organizer.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Monday, September 22, Mr. Reuben Kemavor, the NADMO District Director, confirmed that his office had resumed operations and that work was ongoing.
Efforts to reach Mr. Emmanuel Klu, the NHIS Scheme Manager, for comments were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to the reporter’s calls.
However, a staff member at the NHIS office, who requested anonymity, told the GNA that the office was reopened by National Security operatives on Friday, September 19.
When contacted about the reopening, Mr. Sampson Quarshiga stated that his group had accomplished its objectives.
He added that the exact timing of the reopening was irrelevant to their case.
The NDC group had taken action over concerns that the party hierarchy was not consulted during the appointment of the officers to their respective positions.
While some residents of Kadjebi expressed support for the group’s actions, others condemned the move, describing it as undemocratic and disruptive to public service delivery.
