Major Dr Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon (RTD), the Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), has expressed condolences to a bereaved family in Jasikan of the Oti Region, following a devastating fire outbreak that claimed the lives of a mother and her two children
The fire destroyed personal belongings and household property, leaving the children’s grandmother as the sole survivor in the community,

Dr Kuyon assured the grieving survivors that the state would support her, saying, “we are here not only to sympathise with you, but to assure you that government stands with you.”
He donated unspecified amount to the family and pledged NADMO continued support.
The Director-General emphasized NADMO’s mandate to coordinate disaster prevention, preparedness, response and recovery efforts and highlighted the organization’s proactive approach to disaster management in the country.
Dr Kuyon urged residents to observe fire safety precautions, especially during the dry season and to also report hazards promptly.
Nana Edje Tete Kpase-Brantuo VII, the chief of Jasikan commended NADMO for its swift response and called for sustained collaboration to enhance disaster prevention.
