The Parliamentary Caucus on Disability which was inaugurated with about 24 members now has over 100 members.
He said the Disability caucus in Parliament was now a recognised caucus with a full committee and dedicated funding for its activities.
Mr Napare made this known at the launch of a five-year strategic plan for the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD)
The Member of Parliament for Sene East said: “The Parliamentary Caucus on Disabilities is evolving into a full committee of over 100 members, with dedicated funding on the horizon to power its monitoring and oversight role,”
He urged the disability sector to continue to show up and raise their voices to ensure that Ghanaians comply with the disability act.
The new GFD’s strategic plan outlines the organisation’s vision and roadmap for advancing disability rights, improving inclusion, and strengthening institutional collaboration across sectors.
The workshop was also used as the official close-out of the Disabled People Organisation of Denmark (DPOD) -funded project, which focused on strengthening advocacy, leadership, and organisational capacity within GFD and its member organisations.
The GFD said the strategic plan would serve as a practical guide to coordinate national efforts, amplify the voices of persons with disabilities, and ensure their full participation in development processes over the next five years.
