Madam Eunice Tweneboah-Kodua, Volta Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), says the Company is working closely with partners to resolve issues of low power voltage in the Volta and Oti regions.
She said the issue was not localised but linked to an upstream challenge and was not within the ECG’s capacity to resolve.
Madam Tweneboah-Kodua, speaking to the media, said the power supply chain was a 3-tier one with generation, transmission, and distribution.
She said ECG fell under the distribution tier and collected revenue from its customers.
Madam Tweneboah-Kodua said ECG’s engagement was ongoing to enable constant and stable power supply in the regions.
She said ECG was committed to transparency on activities and would always engage customers.
Madam Tweneboah-Kodua urged customers to continue to report challenges since such reports enable ECG effectively to communicate with partners.
She appealed to customers to switch off gadgets during low voltage period as well as get guards for electrical appliances to ensure their safety.
Madam Tweneboah-Kodua noted that issues such as illegal connections also affected constant supply of power, hence, citizens must help ECG clamp down on such actions.
She urged customers to be patient with ECG as it worked tirelessly to resolve the low voltage.
Customers in Hohoe began to experience low voltage a few weeks into the festive seasons, creating discomfort between 1730 hours and 1900 hours daily.
