The Reverend Seth Duodu Abedi, the Director of Education, Sekyere Presbytery of the Church said the scheme would become operational 2026 and advised the teachers to redouble their efforts to improve the academic performance of their students.
Rev Abedi, also the Juaben District Minister of the Church gave the announcement when he visited the Presbyterian Basic Schools at Atebubu in the Bono East Region.
The Reverend Minister visited the Atebubu Presby Primary “A”, Atebubu Presby Primary “B”, Atebubu Presby JHS “A”, Atebubu Presby JHS “B” and Atebubu Presby Kindergarten.
He called on the Presbyterian teachers to upgrade themselves and aspire high in their profession and do more to better the academic performance of the students.
Rev Abedi said he was highly impressed with the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination performance of the schools and urged them to strive to achieve more.
Mr Eric Koranteng, the Atebubu District Director of Education for the Presbyterian Church also urged the teachers to put up their best, despite the challenges confronting them.
The Rev Wiredu Darkwa, the Atebubu District Local Manager for the Presbyterian Schools, said the visit had inspired the teachers.
Some of the school heads enumerated several challenges including inadequate classroom blocks, and poor security and called on the church to tackle those challenges.
