The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo,  has called on the electorates to vote massively for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on December 7, for continuity and economic prosperity of the county.

She also called on the electorates to vote for all the NPP parliamentary candidates so they can assist Dr Bawumia to deliver good governance to the people.

The First Lady made the call at a campaign programme at the Ablekuma Central Constituency where she joined the parliamentary candidate, Mr Jefferson K. Sackey, to outline his vision for women in the constituency.

According to the First Lady, it was only by voting for the NPP that the good intention of the party could be attained for the country.

She said a vote for Dr Bawumia, would ensure the continuation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy and Agenda 111 among others.

She said the NPP was a party that  have been tried and tested and found to be able to fulfil its campaign promises.

The First Lady, therefore, rallied all the women who gathered at the campaign to serve as ambassadors of the NPP and propagate the good work of the party to the electorates so they would in turn votes massively for the NPP flagbearer and the parliamentary candidates.

She in particular, called on residents of  the Ablekuma Central Constituency to vote massively for Mr Sackey as a young, vibrant man who  had the good of the people at heart.

She said voting otherwise in both the presidential and parliamentary elections, was going to set the country back in terms of development and therefore they should vote wisely.

Mrs Akufo-Addo said despite the devastating impact of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war across the world, the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia led government had been able to steer the country out of the woods and things were now getting better.

She called on all well meaning Ghanaians to put their trust in Dr Bawumia as he is the best candidate to lead the country into further prosperity.

Mr Sackey on his part,  said he has a vision of transforming the lives of women in the Constituency by ensuring their economic and social empowerment.

He pledged to expand a financing scheme that he has established for market women in the constituency if given the mandate to be their MP.

He also pledged to within three months of his assumption of office as MP, complete the second phase of a market project in Sukura started by the former NPP MP for the area but was abandoned by the present NDC MP.

Again, he promised to empower more women and the youth in the area to be economically viable through skills training and job creation.

Mr Sackey said the prosperity of women in his constituency was dear to him as they were the cornerstones of the development of every nation.

The First Lady later moved to the  Klotey  Korle Constituency where she together with Mr Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, the Parliamentary Candidate, met with the electorates and canvassed for their votes for the NPP government.

Mr  Nortey urged the individuals to prioritise their health by voting for the NPP due to its commitment to health prioritisation.

“The  NPP introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), that has significantly improved the health and wellbeing of countless Ghanaians by covering hospital bills and making quality healthcare more accessible and affordable,” he stated.

Mr Nortey  promised to launch a supplementary health card, enhancing the existing NHIS benefits and providing more comprehensive coverage for individuals, if elected as MP.

Regarding business  development,  Mr Nortey said he would lead the establishment of Small and  Medium Banks  if elected as MP,  and would ensure that such  funds would be granted  to individuals in order  to reduce the stress they go  through in borrowing  money to fund their businesses.
