The Upper East Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has cautioned residents of Bawku and its environs to desist from engaging the military in combat as it could lead to more deaths.
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has described allegations of some soldiers killing “innocent Kusasi youth and women in their homes and communities” as “false” and “unfounded”.
Ten people, including a 12-year-old boy, have been reported killed in renewed clashes at Bawku in the Upper East Region, in which the Military has been implicated.
Mr Adib Saani, a Security Analyst, has described Bawku as Ghana’s “weakest link” in the fight against violent extremism.
An unconfirmed number of people have been reported killed Sunday, while others sustained various degrees of injuries in a renewed chieftaincy clash at Bawku in the Upper East Region.
