The Upper West Region has denied the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of a parliamentary seat in the just-ended 2024 general election as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has secured all eleven seats in the region.

The NDC went into the 2024 election with eight out of the eleven parliamentary seats in the region as the NPP held the Nandom, Sissala East and Lambussie constituency seats.

However, all the three Members of Parliament (MPs) for those three constituencies, Mr Ambrose Dery, MP for Nandom, Dr. Bright Baligi, MP for Lambussie and Mr Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, MP for Sissala East, failed to retain their seats.
