Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Western Regional Minister,  has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) members who did not vote in the general elections not to repeat that mistake  in the 2028 general elections.

“So, I am appealing to our NPP supporters that if there  are some difficulties or issues it will be better to discuss those issues in-house rather than showing it publicly by not voting”, he added.

Mr. Okyere Darko-Mensah, who also retained the NPP seat in Takoradi for the fifth time told the GNA  that the NPP supporters largely caused the political Tsunami for their beloved Party in last Saturday’s general election.

Comparatively , he said, the political history of the country had seen the NDC, irrespective of little or not developing the Volta Region as expected, they had continued in the spirit of party loyalty.

The Minister said the NPP had proven to be a better developer of the country,  adding, that the party had continued to serve its purpose of property owning democracy, which had three pillars, including life, freedom and opportunities, adding “We have been able to deliver that.”

He indicated that the NPP introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme and had  extended it to kidney dialysis and childhood cancer”.

He said the NPP government had also made a number of investments in the area of roads, transmission, technology and  ICT.

The government also introduced the free Senior High School policy, which increased enrollment in schools and had ensured that each household could have at least one elite person.

“So if we have been able to serve these broad areas, the government should not have been punished this way”.

“But I believe that the campaign for the 2028 general elections has started immediately after the December 7, 2024 general elections”, he stressed.

He spoke against the pocket of post electoral violence been witnessed across the country.

“So, I cannot fathom why the party supporters are on rampage destroying state properties”.

“But those behind what is going on should note that the law will catch up with them. We are still in government but we do not want to do certain things that would seem we are clashing with them.”
