She said women had always been at the forefront of transformation and decision-making in families, communities, and national struggles and must therefore, not shy away from leadership in politics.
Hajia Mohammed made the call when she served as the special guest of honour at the launch of the TESCON Ladies Club and Leadership Seminar of Valley View University (VVU), Oyibi Chapter, held at the Women’s Centre of the University in Accra.
It was on the theme: “Unite, Uplift, Lead: Rekindle the TESCON Spirit for Impact and Inclusion”, and brought together party elders, university authorities, patrons, students and TESCON executives.
Hajia Mohammed described the establishment of the TESCON Ladies Club as a significant milestone that reaffirmed the role of women in leadership and their contribution to shaping political discourse.
She said “Politics is not too rough for women, nor is leadership too heavy a burden for you to carry. Your voice matters, your contribution is needed, and your participation is essential.”
She highlighted the importance of unity, empowerment, and principled leadership, urging TESCON members to remain disciplined and focused as they prepared for future roles.
She reiterated that leadership was not about personal gains but about uplifting others, empowering them, and inspiring confidence.
Hajia Mohammed commended TESCON VVU for rekindling the spirit of activism and grooming students for responsible leadership.
She officially launched the TESCON Ladies Club and Leadership Seminar, expressing optimism that it would serve as a beacon of unity, empowerment, and transformative leadership for generations to come.
