Ghana Enterprises Agency Empowers 484 Young Entrepreneurs at Atebubu Amantin.

The Ghana Enterprises Agency has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainable entrepreneurship in Atebubu Amantin of the Bono East Region, by graduating 484 young people from a practical skills training programme.

The programme, held at the Business Resource Center forecourt at Atebubu, aimed to equip participants with hands-on skills in various trades, including welding, refrigeration, motor and bicycle repair, general electrical, plumbing, soap making, and barbering.

The training was delivered under the Agriculture (AA3E) and Agribusiness to Entrepreneurship (A2E) components of the Business in A Box (BizBox) Project, implemented in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation.

The Bizbox project is a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Ghana Enterprises Agency to create dignified jobs for 250,000 Ghanaian Youth by 2027, with 70 percent being women and 10 percent persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Each graduate received a start-up kit aligned with their area of training, enabling them to launch viable businesses and contribute to the economic growth of their communities.

Ms. Margaret Ansei, Chief   Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Enterprises Agency, pledged the agency’s commitment to raising young entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of gender equality and youth participation in practical skill training programmes.

She encouraged beneficiaries to utilize their start-up kits productively and manage resources responsibly.

Mr. Isaac Oppong, Atebubu Amantin Municipal Director of the Business Resource Centre, expressed gratitude to the Ghana Enterprises Agency for empowering young entrepreneurs in the Municipality.

Madam charity Kwaah, a beneficiary, thanked GEA for the support and pledge to put the items to good use.

The BizBox Project is part of the Ghana Enterprises Agency’s efforts to transform Ghana’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, promoting economic growth and job creation
