Mr. Sobreh also added that the dead Asian woman owns other businesses in the area, including a casino and supermarket.

He added that according to workers of the hotel, the last time they saw her was in the early hours of Wednesday after closing from work as they often work deep into the night due to the casino.

He said the hotel owner has a custom of visiting her shops and other businesses daily around 13:00 hours and 16:00 hours but on the said day she failed to turn up raising suspicions among the workers who knocked on her door.

The Assemblyman added that the workers indicated that even though they could hear a loud sound emanating from the television set in the room, there was no reply when they knock at the door.

The anxious workers then moved to peep through the window and noticed that she had been tied down.

They then broke the door and saw that her hands, legs, and neck had been tied down upon entering.

According to the Assemblyman, the workers called and reported the incident to him and he then reported it to the Community Eleven Police Station.

Mr. Sobreh said the incident has brought some fear among residents as the area has a lot of casinos but poor security operation, especially the lighting system.

He said he has taken the initiative to personally repair all the faulty streetlights in the area as he noticed that the place was too dark and criminals could take advantage of it.

He also advised house owners and residents in the area to partner with the Assembly in making the place safe for them as the current apathy in such issues was worrying.
