Mr Kwame Baffoe, the Bono Regional Chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP) has challenged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to come out clear with the constituencies which have blotted voters’ register, as alleged by the party.

He explained that it would greatly help the Electoral Commission and other election stakeholders to address the purported anomalies as claimed by the NDC.

Addressing a news conference in Sunyani in reaction to the NDC’s calls for forensic audit into the Election 2024 Voters Register Mr Baffoe, popularly known as “Chairman Abronye”, said he was surprised that “the NDC, has failed to furnish the EC with the constituencies of the supposed errors they have they identified”.

“The opposition NDC is deliberately raising this false alarm against the EC to achieve their diabolic and undemocratic plan of going into the 2024 elections with their own referee, instead of the constitutionally mandated EC”, he stated.

“Indeed, if the NDC has a genuine case, then they should state the same and let the EC decide on such basis”, he stated.

Mr Baffoe therefore called on the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Canadian Embassies in Accra as well as the Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS) and the African Union (AU) to be wary of some unguarded and inciting statements and pronouncements of the former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s flagbearer.

“Some of these statements are treasonable and the former President must be brought into order”, he stated.

Mr Baffoe indicated that the NPP cherished and had proven records of strengthening the country’s democratic governments, saying, the party had no intention to do anything that could mar the December 7, polls, and dirtied the beauty of the nation’s democracy.

He said NPP was poised to win the Election 2024 peacefully, to enable the Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer to continue with the good works of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government.

“Majority of Ghanaians are satisfied with the creditable performance of the government and are ready to vote to retain the NPP in political power.

The NDC is running away from defeat because of the momentum that our flag bearer Dr Bawumia is gaining from the electorate and therefore they are preparing to give some frivolous excuses to their supporters,” Mr Baffoe stated.
