Accra-Ghana, Sept 04, GNA – Apostle Eric Nyamekye has been re-elected Chairman of the Executive Council of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) and sworn into office on Sunday at an induction ceremony in Accra.

The ceremony was to elect new executives who would lead the church for the next five years.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye is the Chairman of the Council, Apostle Samuel Gyau, General Secretary, while Apostles Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, Amos Jimmy Markin, Dr Deuoonne Komla Nuekpe,  and Banmpolare are Council Members.

Apostle Nyamekye shared his excitement of being given the nod to lead the Church of Pentecost for the second time and said in 2018, it had a vision of creating a society where members would be transformed through thought and behaviour to turn many people to Christ.

“To the Glory of God, this five-year strategic Vision, dubbed: Vision 2023, has been a great success. This is evident in the appreciable progress made in all the 25 commitments earmarked for implementation,” he said.

The Church, over the past years, had made substantial contributions to the nation’s development and societal transformation, and saw its members excelling in various areas of influence, he said.

The Chairman said his administration was committed to possessing the nation’s developmental agenda to its fullest as it sought to embark on a second phase dubbed “Vision 2028”.

“While Vision 2023 focused on the equipping of our members, Vision 2028 would focus on unleashing these equipped members into the world as agents of transformation,” he noted.

He said the goal of the new phase is to reach individuals from all walks of life and elevate the values and principles of the Kingdom of God in every sphere of society.

He urged the new executives to work together and be committed to making the new phase possible.

Apostle Nyamekye expressed gratitude for the dedicated efforts of former chairmen, general secretaries, international mission directors, past executive council members and other founding leaders, who laid a solid foundation for the Church during their time.

The Pentecost International Worship Centre from 2018 to 2023 contributed to national building, having provided 184 water facilities in deprived communities, establishing a solar-powered irrigation farm at Zebila in the Upper East Region, and employable skills training for more than 2,300 youths.
