Two suspects detained by the Ghanaian police gave an explanation of some of their methods in a video that our team saw, and they also identified other people involved in the nationwide Fidelity Bank mobile app money withdrawal scam.
The only way Fidelity Bank can stop the current fraud activity by con artists, according to one of the scammers identified in the video as “Chilling,” is if the app is destroyed or removed from the Google Play Store.
He also mentioned how widespread the practice was in Assin Foso. One Gino, Stanza, Perilous, Ziki, and Propers in Kumasi, as well as one Emmanuel Sim, who is also in Kumasi, are among the individuals whose names have been made public. One Stanza and one Anokye, who are members of various gangs, were also mentioned. These were just a handful of the many people connected to the Fidelity Bank mobile app fraud.
According to Chilling, one of the arrested, the mobile app needs to be deleted or deactivated in order to stop the fraud.
Customers of Fidelity Bank Ghana and anyone else using mobile apps offered by their banks need to exercise extreme caution.
Once more, the bank needs to strengthen the security of its banking assets, like the mobile app, and guarantee and maintain the security of its customers’ accounts and funds.
