Fidelity Bank, Ghana’s largest privately-owned indigenous bank, has renovated the Computed Tomography (CT) Scan room at Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in the Ashanti Region.

The gesture was in response to an appeal by the Hospital for enhanced quality and service efficiency in the imaging test Department.

The Agogo Hospital, operated by the Presbyterian Health Service, is the second largest hospital in the Ashanti Region and serves as referral centre for about 500,000 people in its catchment area.

It had undergone an upgrade to a secondary facility, necessitating renovations across its service points to align with the new status.

The facelift in the CT Scan room is, therefore, expected to improve safety and comfort of patients and staff at the hospital.

In a press release  copied to Ghana News Agency, Mr Julian Opuni, Managing Director, Fidelity Bank, reiterated the Bank’s commitment to corporate-social responsibility.

“We believe that access to quality healthcare is a basic human right, and we are proud to partner with institutions such as the Presbyterian Health Service that share this vision. We hope that this donation will help the hospital provide better service to their patients and communities,” he stated.

Rev. Ezekiel Amadu Daribi, General Manager, Presbyterian Health Services, Agogo, praised the Bank’s “timely assistance” in enhancing healthcare delivery at the facility.

“We called on Fidelity Bank for financial support. They answered our call favourably by giving us the needed money to meet the deadline we had set for ourselves.

“Having a complete diagnostic centre in the near future which would include MRI, renal, CT scan, endoscopy, ultrasound amongst others, the attainment of this height would push the agenda of attaining Tertiary status closer than ever,” said, and called on other institutions to support the hospital expand its facilities,” it said.

Fidelity Bank, standing by its core values of integrity and community service, says it will continue to forge lasting partnerships to support Ghana’s healthcare system.
