Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister has advised the electorates, and the first-time voters in particular, to endorse the Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on December 7.

She said the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s Election 2024 flagbearer required the majority of votes to win the General Election and retain political power to strengthen the implementation of the Free Senior High School (FSHS) and to benefit more Ghanaian children.

Describing the FSHS as a transformative initiative of the government, Mad Owusu-Banahene said strengthening of the programme would put Ghana on the edge to tackle her illiteracy rate.

The Regional Minister gave the advice when she interacted with the students of the Our Lady of Providence Girls’ SHS at Drobo in the Jaman South Municipality of the Region and to highlight the relevance of the FSHS for the students to understand and learn hard to justify the investment being made in the programme.

As a government flagship programme, she said the FSHS had significantly improved enrolment, paving the way for many Ghanaian children to access secondary education free of charge.

“Few years, every Ghanaian child will be able to read, write, and understand well”, she stated and urged the electorates among the students to vote for the Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as a sign of appreciation on December 7.

She highlighted the contribution of quality education in the nation’s reconstruction process saying voting for Alhaji Dr Bawumia “is an indication that you are not only an ingrate but also cherish quality education”.

“A literate society will eliminate unnecessary conflicts, poverty and enhance job creation, innovation and industrialization”, Mad Owusu-Banahene stated.

The Regional Minister said continuity pushed progressive and sustainable development of every developing country and urged the students to contribute to the course of the nation’s progressive development by voting for the Alahji Dr Bawumia.

“Alhaji Dr Bawumia is a visionary leader with high integrity, and you will never regret voting for him on December 7”, she stated.

The Regional Minister also highlighted the relevance of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, describing it as another realistic government strategy to advance the fourth industrial revolution.
