The Ghana National Gas Company Limited (GNGCL) has feted more than 1,000 children within its operational catchment area as part of activities marking the Christmas festivities.

The party, held at Atuabo, brought together children from communities including Atuabo, Asemda Suazo, Anokyi, Nralekpole, Nralekyi, and Baku.

Others were from Eikwe Ewe, Sanzule, Krisan, Eikwe Proper, and Old Bakanta.

The children were treated to food and drinks and engaged in outdoor games amidst music and dance to foster unity and a sense of belonging.

Addressing the jubilant gathering, Madam Judith Adjoba Blay, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas, said Christmas was a time for celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, who came into the world as a child.

She noted that the initiative was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of children during the festive season, adding that the party had come to stay and would be an annual event on the company’s calendar.

Madam Blay urged the children to study hard and assured them that Ghana Gas would support schoolchildren, especially girls, to pursue courses that would enable them to become future engineers for the company.

She emphasized that GNGCL would continue to uphold the Local Content Policy and its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments to employ the youth in the Western region and promote development in the area.

Mr Abizi Morkeh, Manager for Community Relations and CSR at Ghana Gas, said every child who attended the party was served food and drinks and received Christmas gifts.
