Adaklu Kodzobi (V/R)-Ghana, Sept. 3, GNA – Ms Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, the Registrar of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) has advised pupils and students on good character formation, saying it was the root of all achievements.
She, therefore, urged them to obey instructions to enable them to build their character to propel them into becoming useful professionals.
Ms Opuni gave the advice at the national launch of Raising New Professionals Initiative (RNPI) at Adaklu Kodzobi in the Adaklu district.
The RNPI, is an Initiative rolled out by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), to help expose public school children to various professional areas in a creative and interactive way.
It also aimed at providing pupils and students access to seasoned professionals to facilitate career counseling activities within the catchment area of the various member universities.
Ms Opuni told them that they could only have a smooth journey in their academic pursuit if they took instructions from both their parents and teachers.
“Your parents and teachers have a lot of influence on your future so be obedient to them to enable them propel you to become useful professionals,” she advised.
She urged them to make their books their best friends, adding that they would have a smooth academic journey if they applied themselves to their books.
“The great professionals and achievers are those who burn the midnight oil,” Ms Opuni asserted.
The Registrar noted that the education sector was going through a lot of reforms but said they were all geared towards the betterment of the students.
Mr Mac-Peter Dunatonu, the Adaklu District Director of Education in a speech read on his behalf said the RNPI did not only demonstrated the commitment of educational institutions but also highlighted the collaborative spirit between the public universities and the grassroots level of learning.
“The Initiative will ignite a path that will guide our students towards a future full of promise and purpose as it will empower them to discover their passions, strengths, and interests and navigate the ever-evolving professional world,” he noted.
He told the educators and professionals who would be steering the programme to help shape the aspirations of the students and guide them to make choices that would impact the trajectories of their lives.
“Together, let us ensure that our students not only achieve academic excellence but also find fulfillment and success in their chosen paths,” he said.
The Adaklu Kodzobi District Assembly Basic School was adopted by the UHAS chapter of GAUA.
The Association is made up of administrators from 16 public universities.
