The award is a special one reserved for distinguished members of the Network of Professional Women in the Maritime and Port Sectors of West and Central Africa.

The GPHA won the award for Best Port in Integrated Management System Policy, while the Tema Port was presented with the Best Port in Import and Export and Container Traffic award.

Mr. Michael Luguje, the Director-General of the GPHA, was also presented with a special incentive award during the ceremony.

Mrs. Gyebi-Donkor is credited with contributing to the smooth implementation of the Paperless Port System in Ghana’s ports when she was appointed a member of the National Committee for the Paperless Port Project and served concurrently as the leader of the GPHA’s team tasked with the implementation of the system.

She was nicknamed ‘Madam Paperless’ from the Port Community, having exhibited and demonstrated a high sense of commitment and dedication and shown class in her leadership qualities, resulting in the successful implementation of the paperless port system.

As the first female Terminal Manager in the history of the GPHA, having served as Manager for the Golden Jubilee Terminal, the terminal was adjudged the best managed Port in West and Central Africa at the maiden edition of the African Ports Awards ceremony.

Mrs. Gyebi-Donkor also served as President and Vice President of the Network for Professional Women in the Maritime and Port Sectors of West and Central Africa, respectively, from 2013 to 2017 and 2010 to 2012, and currently serves as an advisor to the Network.

She has received a number of awards for her dedication to the maritime sector and port operations.
