Tema-Ghana, Sept. 14, GNA – “Here For Perfection” (H4P), a faith-based philanthropic organisation, has organised a free health screening for special needs children and care givers at the Tetteh-Ocloo State School for the Deaf at Adjei-kojo in the Tema West Municipality.

They benefited from health screening activities ranging from general consultation to dental, ear, nose, and throat consultation, eye examination, and malaria testing, with the inclusion of various health metrics like temperature, weight, height, and blood pressure checks.

Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman, Chief Executive Officer of H4P, said the health screening was organised in memory of the first anniversary of the late mother, Mrs. Christina Anansiwa Hackman, who served as the patron of H4P.

Dr. Hackman mentioned the organisation’s initiative to promote good health and well-being in Ghana and support the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) and the World Health Organisation’s Universal Health Coverage.

He said offering free health screenings to pupils, staff, and care givers in special education schools and communities was a step towards ensuring access to quality and affordable healthcare for all.

Mr. Isaac Arthur, the Chief Servant of the Tetteh-Ocloo State School for the Deaf, highlighted the significance of the free health screening for special needs children, addressing dental and eye issues.

He expressed hope for the expansion of the initiative to other special needs schools across Ghana and urged organisations to collaborate with the government in supporting such schools.

“Our doors are opened to receive help from any organization. We will only forward letters to the authorities to ensure organisations visit us,” he said.

Mr. Arthur appealed to the public to enroll their special needs children in formal education at an early age.
