Jehovah’s Witnesses around the world have embarked on a global spiritual campaign themed “Pure Worship” as part of their 2025 annual convention series, which runs from June through October this year.

Held in over 200 locations across Ghana and thousands more worldwide, the convention brings together millions of Witnesses to engage in Bible-based teachings and activities designed to deepen their relationship with God, Jehovah, and reinforce their commitment to worship that aligns with biblical standards.

At the Asokore Mampong Convention Centre in the Ashanti Region, thousands of attendees have been gathering every weekend from Friday through Sunday for uplifting morning and afternoon sessions.

Each day’s programme features a rich blend of faith-strengthening content including Bible discourses, symposia, video presentations, and full-length Bible dramas.

Mr. Joel Grim from the Teshie Nungua Branch Office of Jehovah’s Witnesses, speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), explained the significance of this year’s theme.

He noted that “Pure Worship” is aimed at helping people understand and return to the original standard of worship that Jehovah God desires

“So, we are trying to direct people’s attention to the truth of the scriptures. What did Jesus teach and how can it help us to worship God and to worship him purely the way He wants to be worshipped,” he emphasised. He said we live in a time where many people are devoted to things that take their attention away from God, adding that the convention sought to remind us that Jehovah seeks sincere, undivided worship based on truth. He cited John 4:24, where Jesus stated, “God is a Spirit, and those worshipping Him must worship with spirit and truth”, emphasising that the convention programme encourages participants to examine their form of worship and align it with the teachings of Jesus Christ. The annual conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are open to the public and offered free of charge, with no collections taken. Attendees are invited to come with their families and friends to benefit from the spiritual and practical lessons offered throughout the programme.
