Kafaba (S/R)-Ghana, Nov. 11, GNA – Kafaba community and its surrounding area in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region have been provided with a new CHPS Compound to facilitate effective health care delivery in the area.
The facility, funded by the Northern Development Authority (NDA), has a child welfare unit, detention room, labour ward, antenatal unit, consulting room, and quarters for the health staff.
Officials of NDA visited the facility to assess its operations and to assure the community of their continued support to develop the area.
Mr Stephen Yir-eru Engmen, Deputy Chief Executive Officer in-charge of Projects and Programmes at NDA, speaking after assessing the operations of the facility, said, “Although this facility has been commissioned due to the urgent need for its services in the area, the Authority decided to follow up to ensure it is being put to proper use.”
He said, “It is also to assure them of our commitment to ensuring that the facility is properly equipped to serve its intended purpose.”

Health NDA Facility 2Mr Engmen noted that the facility formed part of President Nana Akufo-Addo government’s commitment to provide quality health care to citizens at their doorsteps.
Mr Richard Broni, East Gonja Municipal Chief Executive, commended the NDA for the initiative, saying it would help address the health needs of the people in the area.
Mr Alhassan Musah, East Gonja Municipal CHPS Coordinator, was optimistic that the facility would contribute significantly towards improving health care services in the area.
Kafabawura Seidu Yahaya, Chief of Kafaba, appealed to the NDA to expand the facility to meet the demands of the people.
