The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr. Eric Edem Agbana, has announced that the Ketu North Job Creation Centre would be launched in July 2025 as part of his commitment to empowering the youth through skills training and employment opportunities.

Speaking at his first Quarterly Accountability Series and Media Briefing in Ehi, the MP revealed that the Job Creation Centre would be located in Dzodze, the municipal capital, to oversee the implementation of job creation and the “Youth in Apprenticeship Programme” across the constituency.

Mr. Agbana disclosed that the Youth in Apprenticeship Programme aimed to train and equip 10,000 young people in Ketu North with valuable vocational skills.

Participants will be trained in various trades, including Tailoring and Fashion Design, Carpentry and Woodwork, Auto Mechanics and Electrical Work, Welding and Fabrication, Hairdressing and Cosmetology, ICT and Digital Skills.

To ensure sustainability, the MP stated that successful apprentices will receive startup kits upon completion of their training, enabling them to establish their own businesses and contribute to economic growth in Ketu North.

He stated that just as a similar initiative was successfully established in the Madina Constituency by MP Francis-Xavier Sosu, a delegation from Ketu North was sent to Madina to study the centre’s operations, structure, and implementation strategies.

This, he explained, was to ensure that the Ketu North Job Creation Centre is set up effectively, drawing from best practices to guarantee its success.

Mr. Agbana assured the public that, beyond the new initiative, his ongoing financial and material support for young graduates from apprenticeship programmes would continue and even be expanded.

The announcement received resounding applause from constituents, who commended the MP for prioritizing job creation and youth empowerment.

Many attendees urged him to push for more development projects that would improve livelihoods and boost local economic growth.
