Saki (Near Tema)-Ghana, Nov. 13, GNA – Chief Superintendent, Seth Tay, Kpone District Police Commander, has sensitised residents of the Nmlitsakpo Electoral Area, a community within the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality, on security issues ahead of the yuletide.

The Kpone district police commander engaged the residents during a town hall meeting organised by the chief of the area in collaboration with the Assembly member for the Nmlitsakpo Electoral Area.

Chief Supt. Tay revealed that the police within the district were doing all they could to ensure residents were always safe as they went about their daily errands.

He said the police could not succeed without the full cooperation of residents, especially in checking crime.

Chief Supt. Tay noted that criminal activities such as robberies had drastically reduced within the various communities in the municipality, adding that break-ins and petty theft were rather on the rise, with a call on the residents to be vigilant.

According to him, the police in Kpone have a patrol unit that move through the communities to keep law and order, urging the residents to engage the patrol team where necessary.

He advised the residents to report any suspicious acts or crimes to the police for swift and rapid response. ‘The police are your friends; they should see us as such, he added.

Coporal Anthony Oduro of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Kpone, reiterated that drivers must always observe road traffic regulations to avoid accidents.

Coporal Oduro hinted that as the yuletide was fast approaching, motorists must ensure they complied with all road traffic regulations, including renewing their expired vehicle documents, saying the MTTD would ensure strict compliance was adhered to as far as road traffic regulations were concerned.

Nii Tetteh Oglie II, Nmlitsakpo Manste, thanked the residents for participating in the programme.

Nii Tetteh Oglie II stated that the community needed various social amenities and that the residents must contribute towards self-help projects such as the building of schools, health posts, and roads, among other important amenities.

The Nmlitsakpo Manste assured the residents that together, they would  tackle the developmental needs of the community, especially, their deployable roads.
