Mr Frank Adjei-Worlanyo, Akan Constituency Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Oti Region, has called on party faithful to unite and support Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer, to secure victory in the 2028 general elections.

He said the outcome of the party’s presidential primary marked not an end, but a vital new beginning for the NPP, stressing the need for unity and renewed focus.

Mr Adjei-Worlanyo made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the NPP’s presidential primary held on Saturday, January 31.

“The internal contest is over; the real battle for Ghana’s destiny has now begun,” he said. “Our sole focus must shift from internal competition to presenting a united front against the National Democratic Congress (NDC). To secure victory, we must channel every ounce of energy invested in the primaries into a single national mission – electing Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President of Ghana.”

He acknowledged that every contest produces winners and losers, and commended all aspirants for their spirited campaigns, gracious concessions and public pledges of support for Dr. Bawumia.

“This show of unity is the foundation upon which the party’s national campaign will be built,” he stated.

Mr Adjei-Worlanyo said the next task of the party was to project Dr Bawumia’s vision to every Ghanaian community, from villages to cities, while countering what he described as false narratives propagated by political opponents.

He urged party communicators to lead a forward-looking and issue-based campaign, focusing on Dr Bawumia’s record and vision for transforming Ghana through digitalisation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

According to him, digital transformation under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership would bring tangible benefits to all segments of society.

“For the youth, it means skills development, job opportunities in technology, and innovation. For businesses, it means reduced bureaucracy, seamless payments, and expanded markets. For governance, it means efficiency, transparency, and a technology-driven fight against corruption. For every citizen, it means convenience through mobile money interoperability, a digital national identity and integration into the global digital economy,” he explained.

Mr Adjei-Worlanyo said these achievements were not theoretical, noting that Dr Bawumia had been instrumental in implementing key digital initiatives such as the Ghana Card, Mobile Money Interoperability, the Digital Address System and Zipline drone delivery services.

“He is not a spectator in the digital age; he is the architect of Ghana’s digital transformation,” he said.

He also cautioned against divisive tactics, particularly attempts to exploit religious sentiments for political gain, describing Ghana as a secular state with a rich multi-faith heritage.

“A person’s faith is a private matter and not a measure of leadership capability. Dr Bawumia is committed to serving all Ghanaians, regardless of religion or ethnicity. His integrity, humility and intellectual depth define him, not the labels his opponents seek to impose,” he added.

Mr Adjei-Worlanyo stressed that the time for internal division was over, urging party members to move forward with discipline, unity and shared belief in the party’s vision.

“Let us go forth, not as former supporters of rival aspirants, but as united ambassadors of the NPP and champions of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s vision. Together, we can work hard and win for the NPP and for Ghana,” he said.
